The following notes may be useful when editing pages:
When an editing page initially opens it will always display the following two lines:
Editing: /path/to/folder/and/file.html Edit file: edit-xxx.txt
These lines are displayed for information purposes and are generally only used for diagnostic purposes and are followed by the page content in a form suitable for editing.
After an 'Update Page' is performed the following three lines are displayed:
File Updated = /path/to/folder/and/file.html Editing: /path/to/folder/and/file.html Edit file: edit-xxx.txt
The 'File Updated' line confirms that the file being edited was successfully updated. If this message is not present typically an error will be displayed. In this case, note the error message and email or telephone your support contact.
Buttons are displayed at the foot of the editing page and require that you scroll down to view them. There are always three buttons
Clicking this button will cause the page to be updated - clicking this button when no changes have been made is harmless.
Clicking this button will display the page you are editing and is typically used to visually check the edits or changes you have made. To return to the edit page - use the BACK button of your browser (Explorer, firefox etc.).
Clicking this button will take you to the main editing page.
Click the 'Browse' button to locate on your local PC the image or file to be uploaded, then click the 'Upload Image' or 'Upload File' button.
Depending on the features of your editing service, you may also be prompted for a 'Upload Folder:' name. If this line appears enter the name of the folder on your web site into which the file or image should be uploaded before clicking the 'Upload Image' or 'Upload File' button.
